Dark Poetry- Piece Of Eden by Alessandro Manzetti

New Post From LH

Assalamualaikum and hye all 🌻

It's been a while since I posted poetry on this blog. No worry, cause I've wrote some. It just that I didn't publish it. I am getting ready to make a comeback on my Youtube Channel.

Thus, I am really love to share a poem, that I've read from an ebook written by Alessandro Manzetti. He is an Italian writer and he has like 40 works. Read about him here 👉🏼 Alessandro Manzetti's Bio

The book was published by Crystal Lake Publishing. Crystal Lake is an independant publishing house and was established in 2012. Their authors and writers have received many awards. Get to know more about them here 👉🏼About Crystal Lake

So, the poetry book that I've mentioned just now, titled Eden Underground. It contains many of the poems, but I am posting this one because I just really love the poem. It kind of give some vibes to me.
As I am into dark poetry, this is one of the poem that has attracted me a lot. Let' see why;

Pieces of Eden

Many rats live in my Eden,
in this garden full of millions of
empty boxes,
of cut cables, of rusty circuits.
The silence roars in my Eden,
while the cries are closed off,
sealed safely in a vault,
hidden with flesh’s bullion—
my  many Eves torn to pieces.

Her head is in a glass jar.
Her bust is on the table,
painted blue, glossy and glazed.
Her chopped arms and legs
fill an oval copper bathtub—
this is the place where I dive
into her purple marmalade,
where I dream,
where I rise and fall to fish—
at the bottom,
the black pearls of my madness.

My Eden is an old abandoned warehouse between the crooked streets of the
suburbs
where ghost cars are parked,
where I drag each new Eve,
still in one piece.

Among all the poems written in the book, I love this one the most. It's actually hard for me to understand it, but I read it repeatedly and I kind of getting what the writer is trying to say.

As dark poetry always talks about death, lonely soul, it applies the same with this poem. Piece Of Eden is kind of the author is narrating. Though, I can feel the dark vibe of the poem, which is the lonely soul that he had.

I like it where the part that this author imagined his bath tub as an ocean. Where there is fish, and also black pearls (if you watch Pirate of The Carribean, you'll know).

The author described his house as an Eden(paradise). On the last stanza, I know that he just wanted to say that his house is old. And the cars parked around his house also the old cars

Whenever he mentioned Eve, I've imagined that his household was dominating by woman/girl. It can be that this author's family consists of most girl/women. Or maybe he just talking about something else.

So, that's all from me this time. I hope this entry somehow benefit all of you. Don't forget to comment and share. Also, follow me on my blog too 😘
